As a social worker, you will need to be adept at applying problem-solving skills and strategies in the midst of interpersonal or intrapersonal conflicts that may arise in social work practice. Doing so will help you win the trust and confidence of your employer, colleagues, and the clients you serve. In this assessment, you write a comprehensive problem-solving report to identify the intersecting aspects of an ethical dilemma and the steps you would take to resolve the issues.
Read the Ethical Dilemmas and select one as the focus for your assessment.
Assessment Deliverable
Write a 700- to 1,050-word report in which you identify the steps you will take to navigate an ethical dilemma that may arise when working with the clients in the dilemma.
Audience: Write your report as though you are a social worker preparing for a weekly check-in meeting with your supervisor. Your supervisor wants to know how you will apply problem-solving strategies to address the ethical dilemma. They will use your report to track your progress in subsequent weekly supervision meetings.

Identify the legal and ethical issues to be addressed. Consider the following topics:
Client needs

What are your responsibilities in this situation?
What interventions may be necessary to address the ethical dilemma?
How will your personal and/or professional value conflicts be resolved by your action plan?

How will your actions reflect the core principles and ethical standards of social work practice?
How will your actions demonstrate professional competence?
How will your actions demonstrate accountability to the clients you serve and to the general public?
Cite at least two scholarly sources in addition to the textbook.
