Step 1: Please write down the name of the woman you’d like to interview for your oral history project and write a little bit about her. One or two paragraphs will be fine. Let me know why you chose her, and any other details about the proposed interview. What is her relation to you? This will be a little bio/introduction to her for your listeners. What do you hope to achieve with this interview? Can you think of how her story can make a contribution to and fill a silence in the archives? Step 2: Please submit at least 10 questions that you think would produce interesting and detailed answers. Think of questions that YOU’D like to know about your narrator. Be sure to avoid questions that allow for a yes or no answer. We have a Master List of Questions which will be shared with you next week. You are free to choose from your list, the Master List, or a combination of both. The minimum length for the interview is 10 minutes, but you can talk longer if you prefer. You’ll need about 10 questions for a 10 minute interview.
